About? Aibou?
In my college’s Student Union there was a sign that read “ask about the new … ” in front of the canteen. I read it “ask aibou the new …”. MLIYGO.
In the middle of lecture yesterday, I heard my professor say “You should wear silver” to the whole class. I immediately thought of Yami Yugi. MLIYGO.
I never got into the game when I was younger even though my step brothers built me a starter deck. Once I found out that my boyfriend still had all his old cards we started to duel each other all the time. I start each duel with “Get your game on!” and throw in a bunch of other catchphrases. When he complains about losing I always say it’s because he doesn’t believe in the heart of the cards.
Also, he had only ever bothered to watch the first series. I convinced him to watch GX, 5Ds, and eventually Zexal. I feel very accomplished.

I’m falling asleep in class on Monday. Just as I start dozing off, I hear the word, “kattobingu”. My head snaps up and I turn around to the person who said it. I asked him what he just said, expecting to find another Yu-Gi-Oh! fan.
Turns out, his cat’s name is Bingo.
MLIYGO.
My dad’s trying to understand my love for YGO. He’s accepted that it means a lot to me.
So he knows who most of the 5D’s characters are. Mainly the protags.
And last night he saw me looking at ZONE fanart and asked if it was Yuusei.
My reply was ‘people who tag ZONE as Yuusei make me rage’.
He just gave me this look like I’d lost my mind.
Oops.

I was teaching my friends how to play President (the card game), and I told them the cards go to the Graveyard after every round.

Just another day…
So, yesterday I was at the mall when I passed infront of a bookstore, and then I saw this:

Rome Total War
Boyfriend is playing Rome Total War. I’m working on a presentation. A cutscene plays when suddenly I hear, “blahblabla Egyptian Pharoah! blablablah,” and my ears perk up! I realize it’s the game, and tell boyfriend I heard “Egyptian Pharoah,” to which he reacts with facepalm because My Life Is Yugioh.

My Pharoah equivalent
As I was trying to describe what I love so much about Yami Yugi—his cool, self-assured fabulousness, cat-like and completely secure in his masculinity if it matters—it suddenly occurred to me that someone I KNOW has the same visual effect that I love!! I have a real life equivalent of the Pharaoh! His last name is Grace, and it fits perfectly.
